The child friendly Arlberg

Sunkid expands the cradle of skiing - St. Anton am Arlberg continues to expand Kinderland

Place: St. Anton am Arlberg /Year: 2009 / Product: Moving Carpet

St. Anton am Arlberg - the cradle of skiing! The beginnings of the art of skiing the snowy slopes on two narrow boards still entail a great responsibility for the mountain railroad and the local Ski School. Therefore, from the very beginning of modern skiing, great emphasis was placed on the children's and beginners' area. In order to meet the constantly growing demands, a few years ago, in cooperation with Sunkid, the now fourth children's and beginners' area was built at the Nassereinbahn. The new location was very well received, which is why an expansion became necessary for the past winter season.

Proximity pays off!

The Ski School in St. Anton a.A., under the direction of Richard Walter, is the largest ski school in Austria with over 400 local and international certified snow sports instructors. To ensure the best possible start to winter sports life, a total of four separate areas for children and beginners have been built. Thus, the Ski School guarantees easy accessibility for every guest. In addition to the area at the ski school headquarters, a beginners' area in the center of St. Anton a.A. and a children's area in St. Christoph, there is also a children's area in Nasserrein at the entrance to the village. This flagship of the Ski School Arlberg was expanded this winter with a new Moving Carpet. This means that the Ski School in St. Anton a.A. already has a total of 12 Sunkid lifts for the children's, beginners' and logistics areas.

The multifunctional Moving Carpet

The Kinderland in Nasserein at the beginning of St. Anton a.A. could already rely on three Sunkid Moving Carpet conveyor belts in the past years. But due to the great rush to the new Kinderland, an extension was now needed. The Bergbahn and the Ski School decided to install a new Sunkid Moving Carpet in the lower area which does two jobs in one!

On the one hand, the new Moving Carpet with a length of 69m facilitates access to the Kinderland and therefore serves as a logistical solution. On the other hand, a new children's and beginners' slope could be built next to the Moving Carpet, for which the new magic carpet serves as an ascent aid. For logistical solutions in the ski area in combination as an ascent aid for practice slopes, the Sunkid Moving Carpet is the ideal solution. Easy transport over short but also long distances is thus made much easier for winter sports enthusiasts and also pedestrians. Especially bystanders like grandparents benefit from this solution and can easily and quickly see their loved ones on the skis!

Sunkid Gallery Conveyor Canopy

The new Moving Carpet was built with the Sunkid Gallery conveyor belt roofing, which guarantees less maintenance and easiest start-up for the operator. The conveyor belt roof is especially pleasing for the guests, as they are protected from wind, rain, snow and cold. Due to its modern design, the Sunkid Gallery is a visual highlight for every ski resort. The lateral doors at a distance of 1.8m are anchored by means of rubber brackets. Quick opening is guaranteed by the self-retracting PVC tarpaulins in truck tarpaulin quality. In practice, this installation method has proven itself for over 7 years and Sunkid can now refer to approx. 7,000 running meters of installed Sunkid Gallery.

Products from the Sunny Stuff range provide an atmospheric design for the children's land. Figures made of solid foam or numerous ski school aids ensure fun and great learning effect for the children! Thus, the offer for children and beginners in Nasserein is rounded off. With the support of Sunkid, the mountain railroad and the Ski School on the Arlberg could once again expand the existing offer and is already looking forward to the coming winter!
