Skiing fun in Stratton with covered 171m Moving Carpet
Long, longer, "King Size" - that's probably how you could describe the new Sunkid Moving Carpet in Stratton, Vermont (USA). With 171m the modern conveyor belt, which was completely covered by the Sunkid Gallery, is one of the longest installations of Sunkid & Star Lifts in the USA. The planning and execution was successfully carried out by Star Lifts USA Inc.
After already three successful installations of Sunkid Moving Carpet in Stratton (15m, 18m and 30m), another conveyor belt has been added to the children's and beginners' area. The latest Sunkid Moving Carpet is almost three times longer than the previous installations combined and is mainly used by advanced skiers. After the ascent, these skiers look forward to a long and challenging downhill run where they can demonstrate their skills.
The 171m long Sunkid Moving Carpet is powered by a powerful 22.5 KW motor, which overcomes the average gradient of 18% with ease. Whether pedestrians, skiers or snowboarders - all are transported safely, comfortably and quickly. The Sunkid conveyor belts reach a theoretical capacity of 2,000 pedestrians or 1,400 skiers per hour, which means that Stratton is well prepared for a large influx of visitors.
In order to provide the guests with the appropriate comfort during the ascent, the operators of the Mountain Ski Resort in Stratton also decided to use the Sunkid Gallery conveyor belt roofing. In addition to protecting passengers from wind, snow, and cold, the Sunkid Gallery also reduces maintenance for the operator. Every 1.8 m, there are emergency exits on the sides that guarantee sufficient safety. Thanks to the proven modular design of Sunkid products, adaptation to convex-concave terrain is also possible at any time. The color-coded side covers make the Sunkid Gallery a real eye-catcher and visual highlight in Stratton.
The successful cooperation of the Mountain Ski Resort in Stratton, Vermont and Star Lifts USA Inc. was the cornerstone for the successful realization of this great project!
