The new feeder for the largest bike park in northern Poland is the world's longest Moving Carpet with a width of 1200mm at 372m.
Kurza Gora is a skiing area in the Kurzętniku regionin Northern Poland. The skiing area has been highly active in summer as well for a few years, turning the property into one of Poland’s largest bike parks in that season. Since the spring of 2022, the bike park has expanded its offering by a Sunkid moving carpet with a length of a legendary 372 metres.
The park is the latest addition to the offering of Penguin Group, a tourism institution aiming to create a free-time offering for 365 days.
Installation of the new Sunkid moving carpet has made access to the starts into the three professionally groomed trails simple. Riding comfort has been increased by equipping the conveyor belt with a belt width of 1200 mm. On the technical side, a Rufftop conveyor belt with a strength of 500 N/mm and 4 pulling layers was chosen, endless-rubberised by a local specialist on site. The system is powered by a double drive with 2 x 30 kW = 60 kW overall power and a rubberised drive drum with a diameter of 790 mm. The conveyor belt is kept perfectly tensioned by the tried and tested Sunkid tensioning tower. The system is running at a maximum speed of 1.2 m/sec. The new and unique electrical Type i-CONTROL® control unit permits simple and clear operation of the system via an HMI interface. The customer and the Sunkid after-sales department alike can review the system by remote access at any time.
Since this moving carpet transports bikers in summer and serves as a climbing aid for skiing in winter, it can also be declared the world’s longest moving carpet in year-round use.
The customer is aiming to use the system for a mountain cart trail in summer next year as well. The carts’ width fits perfectly on the 1200-mm Sunkid belt, enabling simple mountain transport.
The Bike Park has a good offer for any level of skill, from beginners to advanced bikers. The trails are running near the vantage tower, ensuring a wonderful panorama view. Dashing jumps, simple curves, and many other features ensure great fun.
Another highlight of the region is the year-round tubing complex built by Sunkid and its partner Neveplast in 2018. It is the largest of its kind in Europe. A total length in excess of 700 metres and 7 different tracks guarantee fun for every age group. A 120-m-long Sunkid moving carpet transports tubes and serves as a climbing aid. Depending on season, users slide either on snow or on plastic mats. The Tubby Jump into a dedicated airbag adds an extra adrenalin kick. To the video
