A lot has happened on the Kasberg in Upper Austria this year
A new indoor playroom for the little ones ensures fun off the slopes. The family downhill run has been expanded and thus made more easily accessible for all skill levels. The biggest and most important renovation, however, is the expansion of the children's ski arena. For the opening of this news, the Kasberg lifts invited with two top concerts by Christina Stürmer and SheSays.
Kinderland at 1,300 m above sea level
The Kinderland at approx. 1,300 m above sea level can be reached comfortably by an 8-person monocable gondola lift. For the winter season 2006/2007, an 84 m long Sunkid Moving Carpet was installed in addition to the already existing 42 m Moving Carpet. This installation thus represents the longest covered conveyor belt in Upper Austria.
The new installation, which is completely covered with Sunkid Gallery, is operated by an 11 kW drive motor and is designed with the conveyor belt surface type "Rufftop". The lift can comfortably transport 1,400 skiers per hour up a gradient averaging 15%. There, they can exit easily and conveniently via the innovative "Sunkid Radius" side exit.
The patented Sunkid Radius side exit is a new exit philosophy for conveyor belts. The passenger exits at the last middle section before the drive station on the left or right side. This middle section is designed in a curved shape (radius), which allows the passenger to simply turn his winter sports equipment sideways at the highest point of the curve (where there is the smallest contact surface - only at certain points). In addition, exit rails are attached to the side, which the passenger can hold and turn on.
The tried and tested Sunkid conveyor belt canopy protects passengers from wind and weather and ensures quick and easy maintenance and servicing of the conveyor belt.
In addition to the two Moving Carpet conveyors, Sunkid supplied a Rotondo ski and tubing carousel, where children can learn to ski in a fun way and also have a lot of fun. The two conveyor belts and the carousel are operated centrally by a supervisor.
Directly in the children's ski arena is the new Sonnalm - a ski lodge that can accommodate a total of 530 people (indoors and outdoors). Here there is a 2-story new children's indoor playroom with slides, various games and daily free childcare by an animator from 10 am - 3 pm.
The managing director of Kasberg Bahnen GmbH & Co. KG, Peter Grögler, describes his experiences to date:
"The new covered belt has already paid for itself. The facility is absolutely loved. The guests and we are very satisfied. Word gets around quickly and word of mouth brings us more guests!"
