WOODEN LETTERS ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS

A T becomes a double swing, an A a climbing tower or an E a slide. For each letter of the alphabet, Sunkid and its partner Almholz have developed the matching play equipment. The Sunkid giant letters, up to four meters high, are made of untreated Styrian mountain larch and are an eye-catcher and popular photo motif for tourists and locals all year round.

Since this year, there is a new public community playground in the municipality of Peisey-Nancroix (FR) near the famous ski resort of Les Arcs. Here, too, the gigantic wooden letters come into play. In fact, the playground consists of the wooden commune name lettering. The P of the lettering offers two swing options (nest swing and board swing), the two letters E each have a slide that can be climbed up to with a ladder, the I serves as a climbing frame, the S has two hammocks and the letter Y has a swing on both sides. All letters are between 2.50 m and 3.00 m high.

The small commune of Peisey-Nancroix has 643 inhabitants and therefore during the summer season the playground is mainly used by the children of the local schools. However, as soon as the winter season starts, many winter sports guests also come to the small communities around the large ski resort Les Arcs, which is very famous in France. If you take the cable car "Vanoise Express" to the ski resort, you can see the wooden letters from above. Also the children of the tourists are invited to have fun on the wooden letters.

The wooden letters have also been scoring points in Austria for a few years now. In Sölden, the playable lettering "ALMZEIT" has been in place since 2013, part of a project supported by 14 mountain hut owners, the local committee of the Ötztal Tourism Association and Bergbahnen Sölden. "The ALMZEIT as a themed hiking trail is not intended to be a one-time action, but a project that develops over several years. If our alpine pastures and huts can present an attractive offer in summer, then the hotels and guesthouses in the valley will also benefit from this," said Carmen Fender, Marketing Manager of Ötztal Tourism.

Next to the large-scale information boards at the middle station of the Gaislachkoglbahn is the "ALMZEIT" sign, which is about three meters high. This is equipped with a slide, climbing facilities and loungers.

The wooden letters from Sunkid have also been indispensable at Titlis (CH) since 2016. In direct proximity to the tubing run with Sunkid Moving Carpet and VARIOS wooden gallery, the highly visible giant letters from Sunkid are located on the terrace of the Berghotel Trübsee. Here the letters are equipped with a swing, a climbing net, a slide and a sunbathing area.
